USA Playoffs Lacoste: THE QUALIFIERS for Le Mondial Lacoste 2022

Les Petits As – USA Playoffs Lacoste Presented by AQR 2021 ended this November 10th in Boca Raton, Florida. At the end of an intense week of competition, the 8 best players have qualified for Les Petits As – Le Mondial Lacoste in January 2022.

On the Girls side, Shannon Lam succeeded Claire An (winner of the last edition) and won the USA Playoffs against Sydney Jara in a one-sided final (6-1, 6-0). Marcella Roversi won the third place of the tournament. The last qualifier – one year younger than her compatriots (born in 2009) – is Julieta Pareja. Capucine Jauffret and Elena Zhao – already participants of the last edition in July – made a great run but didn’t succeed to qualify.

Jack Kennedy won the Boys final in 2 sets against Ford McCollum (6-1, 6-4). The young New-Yorker – member of the John McEnroe Academy – has conceded only 24 games during the whole competition. Sebastian Bielen, participant of the last USA Playoffs in July, has written the beautiful history of this event by finishing in the 3rd place.

I think what stands out to me the most is that I’ve qualified into Les Petits As – Le Mondial Lacoste. I know that I’m going to go to France, which was one of my biggest dreams as my mom went there, a lot of my family went there and I’m just super happy that I’m in.

Keaton Hance will be present at Les Petits As – Le Mondial Lacoste as well. He is the last qualified player despite an injury in the 3rd place match that prevented him from playing the match for 3rd place. Teodor Davidov, ambidextrous player born in 2010, who has received a wildcard, distinguished himself despite his young age by finishing first of his group, only to lose in the quarter-finals. A promising future for this young atypical player. We will see him again in 2022 and 2023.

It is therefore with enthusiasm and ambition that we will meet our 8 American qualifiers from 20 to 30 January 2022 in Tarbes. The best 14&Under players will be facing them.
