MOROCCO RULES THE AFRICA PLAYOFFS!

News

After several days of intense competition, the Africa Playoffs Wilson have delivered their verdict, marking the end of an exceptional journey for young players determined to earn their spot at Les Petits As – Le Mondial Wilson 2026 in Tarbes.

Morocco delivered a spectacular performance at the 2025 Africa Playoffs Wilson. This year, Moroccan tennis shone brightly, qualifying three players out of the four available spots for the prestigious Les Petits As – Le Mondial Wilson 2026 in Tarbes, France.

Quarterfinalist last year, Soulaimane Jamji confirmed his rapid rise. The young Moroccan talent dominated the competition, imposing his game without dropping a single set — a testament to his steady progress and impressive control throughout the tournament.

On his side, Reda Dhimni also secured his qualification for a second appearance at the Mondial. His ticket was earned through sheer grit: in a thrilling final against compatriot Youssef Lasso, Dhimni saved three match points with remarkable composure before turning the match around to claim a heroic victory (1/6, 7/5, 6/1) — and with it, his precious spot for Tarbes.

In the girls’ draw, the final featured a 100% 2013-born showdown between Dina Jaouid and  Wendy Modiba.

Earlier in the week, following her semifinal win, Dina shared that she had gone through a challenging year. Quarterfinalist last year and very close to qualifying for Tarbes, she entered this edition with renewed ambition — and fully lived up to it, ultimately claiming the title 7/6 (4), 6/4 after a solid performance.

Across the net, Wendy Modiba, hindered by an ankle sprain sustained earlier in the week, showed remarkable courage. Despite the setback, the young South African delivered a high-quality tournament, confirming both her undeniable talent and her impressive maturity for her age.

👏 Congratulations to all, and see you in January!
